About Me
My work sits at the intersection of psychology, systems, and lived experience. While the services on this site outline how we might work together, this page offers more context for why I do this work and the path that led me here.
From an early age, I became aware of how power, culture, and social systems shape people’s access to safety, voice, and opportunity. I witnessed how some communities are consistently marginalized while others are protected, and how these dynamics leave lasting psychological and relational impacts. This awareness became a guiding thread in my life—shaping my academic interests, professional choices, and the kinds of spaces I am drawn to serve.
My academic training began at California Polytechnic State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in International Affairs. This foundation grounded me in understanding systems, governance, and power at both local and global levels. I later completed a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Concordia University and am currently pursuing a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology at Meridian University, where my work continues to integrate trauma, assessment, multicultural psychology, and organizational contexts.
Professionally, I began my career in diversity, equity, and inclusion work before expanding into consulting roles across nonprofit organizations, government agencies, higher education, K–12 education, and faith-based institutions. In these spaces, I consistently encountered the psychological consequences of systemic harm—racial trauma, gender-based violence, spiritual abuse, and the chronic stress that often accompanies marginalization. These experiences clarified for me that sustainable change requires both individual healing and systemic transformation.
This realization led me into clinical counseling work with individuals, couples, and families, and placed me on the licensure path as a Professional Clinical Counselor. At the same time, I remained committed to applying psychological science beyond the therapy room—supporting organizational health, leadership development, and community-level change. I have had the privilege of consulting with multiple government and educational entities, including serving on the City of San Luis Obispo’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force. The task force’s recommendations and subsequent five-year DEI Strategic Plan were unanimously adopted by City Council, reinforcing my belief in the power of collaborative, psychologically informed systems work.
Across all of my work, I hold that healing, clarity, and growth are possible—even in the aftermath of harm or prolonged stress. Whether I am supporting an individual navigating personal pain or an organization wrestling with complex systems and histories, my aim is to work with integrity, humility, and depth. I strive to help people and systems move toward greater coherence, agency, and alignment with the values they hope to embody.

My Inspiration.
My work is dedicated to my two wonderful parents, Jesse and Pearl, whom I am proud and honored to call mine. This picture is from the 1970s when they marched with Caesar Chavez in Salinas Valley for the rights of Chicano farm workers. They taught me what love, integrity, dedication, and advocacy looks like, and I want to carry on their legacy by helping others. In particular, my mom lived a life where she exuded love that transcended time and space, and although she is not with us physically, she will forever be my guide. ❤️
